£1.50 Town Fare Cap Scheme

£1.50 Town Fare Cap

Lincolnshire County Council, working with local bus operators and supported by UK Government funding through the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), has introduced a reduced fare cap of £1.50 for many local bus journeys within town zones across the county. This scheme is designed to make bus travel cheaper, simpler and more attractive for residents, shoppers and visitors.

What It Means For You

  • Flat Fare of £1.50 for single journeys within defined town zones in participating Lincolnshire towns, short trips around town centres.

  • That’s half the current national single-fare cap of £3, making bus travel more affordable for everyday trips.

The £1.50 Town Fare Cap is available for eligible bus journeys made entirely within the highlighted areas shown. These zones represent the designated town fare areas where a flat £1.50 single fare applies when travelling from one stop to another within the same highlighted boundary.

This reduced fare is designed for short, local journeys around town centres, residential areas, shopping districts and key local destinations. If your journey both starts and finishes within the highlighted area, you can benefit from the £1.50 fare.

Journeys that travel beyond the highlighted boundary, even if only for part of the trip, will be charged at the normal fare (or the national fare cap where applicable).

If you’re unsure whether your journey qualifies, please check the map carefully or ask your driver before boarding.
