Lloyds Tour of Britain Cycle Race – Stage 2

Thursday 3 September 2026

The Lloyds Tour of Britain Cycle Race will be travelling through Lincolnshire on Thursday 3 September, resulting in a number of road closures and rolling road closures across our network.

Several Brylaine services will need to be diverted, shortened or cancelled while the event takes place. Please check your service below before travelling and allow extra time for your journey.

IMPORTANT – ALL BOSTON SERVICES

All Brylaine services in Boston will be diverted away from Boston Market Place until after 1:00pm.

For all departures up to and including 1:00pm:

Boots will NOT be served
South Street will NOT be served
Town pick-ups will be from Boston Bus Station ONLY

Some services have additional changes, which are detailed below.

B1A / B1B Boston Town

The B1A and B1B are likely to experience disruption between approximately 10:00am and 11:30am due to traffic associated with rolling road closures in Boston.

Please allow additional time for your journey.

B1C / B1D Boston Town

The following journeys are affected:

10:00am | 10:30am | 11:00am | 11:30am

These journeys will operate from Mad Macs, Foster Street, as a B1D only.

From Mad Macs, buses will:

Turn left onto Main Ridge → right onto Church Road → continue to the end →

then resume the normal line of route.

These journeys will NOT serve:

Skirbeck Road
Boston Market Place

Wide Bargate stops will be CLOSED.

All B2 departures will instead operate from:

Foster Street Lay-by

Services will operate anticlockwise only.

CANCELLED

10:45am B2 – CANCELLED

B4 – Boston / Spilsby

9:30am from Spilsby

Will terminate at Pilgrim Hospital.

10:15am from Boston

Will instead start from Pilgrim Hospital at 10:25am.

1:30pm from Boston

Will terminate at the car park on the Industrial Estate, Vale Road.

2:30pm from Spilsby

Will NOT serve Spilsby Market Place and will instead commence from the car park on the Industrial Estate, Vale Road.

B5 – Boston / Lincoln

10:00am from Boston

This journey will operate:

Boston → Billinghay → directly to the former RAF base at Metheringham

It will NOT serve:

Woodhall Spa
Coningsby
New York
Frithville
Pilgrim Hospital

9:00am from Lincoln

This journey will operate as far as Langrick, before travelling directly to Boston Bus Station via Hubberts Bridge.

It will NOT serve:

Frithville
Pilgrim Hospital

10:00am from Lincoln

This journey will operate to the former RAF base at Metheringham, then travel directly to Boston.

It will NOT serve:

Woodhall Spa
Coningsby
New York
Frithville
Pilgrim Hospital

B7 / B7X – Boston / Skegness

10:20am from Boston

Will operate via Boston College and Fishtoft.

This journey will NOT serve Pilgrim Hospital.

2:00pm from Boston

Will terminate at Friskney.

This journey will NOT serve:

Wainfleet
Skegness

2:55pm from Skegness

Will NOT operate between Skegness and Friskney.

The service will instead commence from Friskney, Barley Mow at 3:16pm.

B617

9:30am from Lincoln

Will terminate at Tattershall Market Place.

It will NOT serve:

Woodhall Spa
Coningsby
Horncastle

10:50am from Horncastle

CANCELLED between Horncastle and Tattershall Lakes.

The journey will instead commence from Tattershall Lakes at 11:22am.

10:30am from Lincoln

Will terminate at Tattershall Lakes.

It will NOT serve:

Tattershall Market Place
Woodhall Spa
Coningsby

The following journeys are CANCELLED:

1:37pm Alford → Mablethorpe
2:10pm Mablethorpe → Spilsby
3:05pm Spilsby → Alford

School Services – 83 / 7608

Services 83 and 7608 are expected to operate normally.

However, they may be subject to delays during the afternoon if road closures are delayed and traffic has not cleared by school travel time.

Services Likely to Remain Unaffected

The following services are likely to remain unaffected, except for the bus stop closure in Boston Market Place where appropriate:

Please expect some disruption due to general traffic levels.

A1 & B9 – Boston Schools

Morning A1 and B9 services serving Boston schools will drop off at Quaker Lane instead of Boston Market Place.

Closed Contract 20540

Closed contract 20540 will pick up from Bay 6 at Boston Bus Station instead of Boots.

Please Allow Extra Time

Although we have planned these changes around the information provided, rolling road closures and traffic conditions may change as the event progresses.

We strongly recommend allowing extra time for your journey and checking for any further service updates before travelling.
