Brylaine is a local operator who provides a network of regional services for communities and education establishments across Lincolnshire. 

We employ over 50 drivers operating approximately 40 buses a day, from our 3 depots in Boston, Coningsby & Skegness.

 

 

The role of a Bus Driver

Applying for this position will be the start of a journey within an industry that grows its business by encouraging and developing those who see this as a career opportunity. Working with Brylaine is quite possibly the easiest bus driver position in the country* 

 

Our bus driving vacancies are full-time, part-time days and education contracts. Our services currently operate *Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays from 0600 - 20000.  You will be required to work the full range of shifts which will include early mornings and late finishes. This is also the case when you are in training.

 

This is a customer facing role where you will be expected to answer customer queries, make announcements and deal with a variety of situations as part of your day-to-day role. It is therefore essential that our drivers can communicate effectively and deal with people in a tactful, confident, and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of your passengers at all times

  • Engage with our customers in a tactful and professional manner including answering any journey queries

  • Keeping our customers informed/updated 

  • Ensuring that your bus is fit for service at the start of your duty and throughout

  • Maintaining the schedule on the route

  • Comply with company rules and regulations

 

Qualifications

  • UK driving licence (category B) held for a minimum of 6 months

  • Current category D (PCV) entitlement

  • No more than 6 Penalty points on your licence 

  • Able to meet the DVLA medical standards to hold a PCV (category D Bus / Coach entitlement) licence

  • Numerate and literate and able to communicate both effectively verbally and in writing

  • The right to live/work in the United Kingdom.

Current Driving Rate April 2024

£13.50 per hour on a 4 and 5 days a week FT contract.

£85.00 per day education contract with AM&PM shifts.

Holiday pay pro-rata.
